Metro 2033 Review : Do you remember the last time you fell in love with the game? I do not mean “really liked,” I do not mean “I played a ton,” I mean I like it.
I remember a moment what happened to me and Metro 2033. I hit the Back button to check my goals and was surprised to see my character, every man named Artyom, apply to the physical folder with notes scribbled it, and built-in compass. Not only did I need to pull the right trigger to look at it, and you need to pull the trigger on the left to ignite a lighter as a faint glow from the subway in Moscow, which in many of the game will be played was not enough to read.
The little thing, but such a clear indication that this is a game developer Ukrainian 4A Games has put her heart if, in a sense, I gave permission for the laying of mines in as well.
As anyone ever in love, at first I found it hard to believe how much he was right on the Metro 2033. It is a world where human remains have been hidden by a cataclysmic event, but it’s a far cry from the sense of isolation from the fall 3. These tunnels and stations teem with life, almost to distraction. When you reach one of the few safe areas, you’ll almost wish you could stop the talks, songs and games going on around you, so you can deal with them in one at a time.
Although the writing and representation of characters that Artyom meet in the tunnels is not necessarily profound, it feels authentic to the world, and often very funny.
Charge the one I’ve got no answer for? Fire is not very good.
Despite the difficult times and clear the population of this earth, and there is an undercurrent of resistance, the courage of these people, and that makes it easy to fight for.
Even when I was only a few dozen monsters you battle throughout the game as you try to save your home from the station advances, and incredible strength of indulging in Metro 2033 is keeping you constantly. Instead of the trouble, and I was fascinated by the way I had to monitor candidates for Artyom and gas mask to protect him as he wandered the poisoning of the surface of the remainder of Moscow; and I assume I should be disturbed from time to time the need to pump hand-powered generators to juice up my night vision goggles or lights – but I did not. These little touches do not have a significant impact on the game, but its impact on keeping you invested in the world? Incalculable.
There is a similar amount of detail in Artyom weapons in the world and it occupies. The color palette, which usually ranges from gunmetal gray to white ash, may not be the most inspiring, but it makes the game and sad about the peaceful feeling that you do not see often in first person shooters.
You have to return the phone call on your watch to keep track of your gas mask filter. No, really.
… Okay, so, I think I have gone far enough without recognizing you something that you have already figured out: I usually do not fall in love with such a perfect match. Perhaps because it allows me to feel that I am the only person who really appreciates a particular game is flawed, or perhaps Baptist upbringing instilled me with the repressed self-loathing – I do not know. But I’ve played more than 2033 underground for ten years or even hours, the more I began to panic, “you do not know her like I know her” talks and I would like to have in the coming weeks.
Charge the one I’ve got no answer for? Fire is not very good. Weapons feel weakened criminal, and it seems that the enemy is immune to damage during certain movements (doubly frustrating because of the scarcity of ammunition).
Also, Amnesty International sometimes terrible. It is not uncommon for the enemy soldiers to a few meters to forget exactly what he is doing and just stand there, in mute waiting to blast him to St. Petersburg.
Metro 2033 is also the experience of merciless, and even beyond the fighting. Although I might argue that the game’s tendency to blow you with a spark practically invisible at inappropriate times is a great way to keep your attention on the game itself, and I understand that you may not see it that way when you’ve been reduced to a chunky-style , tunnel pool for the third time in a few minutes.
Do you see? Do you see what I did there? The game does not appear in the retail trade for all of a few hours, and I already excuses for that. But what can I do about the game that makes me physically pump pneumatic rifle for the additional damage? How am I supposed to be cast aside in the portfolio, a game? It’s just not within my authority.
I can not excuse the failures of Metro 2033, but I’m more than happy to defend the extent it is not right. If you can not defend something you like, what’s the point of falling in love in the first place?
