Recalled Toyotas

Recalled Toyotas

To appear before the Appropriations Committee in the House of Representatives move this morning, said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood that Toyota owners “must stop driving,” noted the vehicles until they’re fixed.

“We need to remedy this problem so people do not have to worry about breaking the link between engine or turn off the brake or put it in neutral … if anyone has [one] of these vehicles, and stop driving and take it to Toyota dealer” .

Sage advice or a precursor to panic? It’s hard to say, despite the e-mail messages received from a number of clients who have the Toyota recall vehicles ask what should be done. Lahoud gave the answer, and although it may seem to some exaggeration, and the old adage “better safe than sorry” comes to mind. He said that, and allow you to sit unused Toyota may not be an option for some people who own only one vehicle, and the suspension Lahoud could create fear and unnecessary for the owners.

We are told that parts to repair the recalled vehicles are already being shipped to Toyota dealers across the country, and after a few days of training they will be ready to start repairing vehicles by the end of this week at the latest. Therefore, if the car owners affected to respond to Lahoud and advice, and should only be without wheels for a few days or so, assuming the local Toyota dealer is able to cope with the influx of vehicles recalled in the pending reform.

Update: According to a report from the Associated Press, has fallen on Lahoud issued a statement calling for the drivers of Toyota vehicles affected to stop driving their cars and said, “what I said, it was clear that any errors.” Mr.Lahoud, a suggestion: the ads in the future very carefully.

UPDATE: Toyota has issued a statement about statements made by Lahoud and decline, which you can read after the jump.
