Haiti hit again. According to CNN, the strong aftershocks between 6.1 on the Richter scale shook the island nation, which is still recovering from a 7.0 earthquake, which measured a little over a week. Injury and at least one has been reported, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
There have been several aftershocks since the quake 7.0, but this morning was stronger. Patients in a hospital near the airport in Haiti in Port-au-Prince immediately began to pray as the ground shook like a ship rocking back and forth. Asked for forgiveness and protection, and a nurse said.
Estimates indicate that the number of dead at 200,000, so it is understood that the Haitians are still fearful of more quakes. Such a strong earthquake could be a major threat to the buildings that have already been damaged. But even if 6.1 sound is not much different from 7.0, Carrieann Bedwell with the U.S. Geological Survey says that the energy emitted by the 7.0 quake is 32 times stronger than that this morning aftershock.
Although the Port-au-Prince is still in a state of chaos, and aid workers sort things day after day. This morning, the U.S. Navy warship has brought the city much-needed medical assistance. U.S. helicopters will be patients who were on board the ferry, brought relief to hospitals and clinics overloaded.
