It has been Dorothy Height, head of an African American, educator, and the key civil rights activist, away from the age of 98. She spent her crusade for reasons that are believed to be – equal rights for all and social justice.
She died of natural causes this morning in the hospital at Howard University in Washington, DC
The rise of female captain in the leadership of civil rights, along with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Whitney Young, A. Philip Randolph, James Farmer, Roy Wilkins and James Lewis. The rise on a platform in Washington on August 28, 1963, when Dr. King delivered his powerful kick “I have a dream” speech.
“Today we lost a major American, a brave and courageous woman who worked tirelessly for the cause of civil rights and social justice,” said Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. “Before long some of the young activists in the movement to the forefront, such as Dr. King and I, there were education and empowerment of women, children and families in the south.”
