A petition has been filed in the Lahore Registry of Supreme Court challenging the 18th amendment bill today.
The petitioner, Barrister Zafarullah, alleged the PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif backed the bill just to get the bar on becoming prime minister for third time lifted.
It added that annulling the party election would stoke dictatorship and hereditary politics within the political parties. It also demanded of the court to allow the decision of the judicial commission as the appointing body of the judges instead of parliamentary committee .
