Terremoto en chile 2010

Terremoto en chile 2010: Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issue Tsunami warning for Chile & Hawaii tsunami. A deadlier earthquake has rocked Chile, the South American country prompting Tsunami warning and people evacuating their houses in advance.

Though so far there are no reports of the casualties and the number of deaths, experts say that the loss of live and properties will be substantial as an earthquake of this magnitude can destroy regions, let alone cities and towns.

In Haiti where an earthquake of 7.5 intensity hit some two months ago, the total loss of life is still under investigation. Authorities have said that around three hundred thousand people may be dead, but a number of building are still to be searched.

The whole Haitian capital has been turned into a ghost town with around half of the capital’s population leaving the city for safer areas where they could get shelter and drinking water.

US Geological Survey report says that the centre of the earthquake was located in the Chilean town of Concepcion, more than three hundred kilometers from Santiago, the national capital.

The Tsunami Warning centre has said that there is a heightened possibility of a Tsunami striking the nation within the few hours and people in coastal Chile have been advised to relocate to safer place.
