Rockets Trade

Rockets Trade

The Houston Rockets have reportedly traded Tracy McGrady to the Sacramento Kings. The seven player deal sends McGrady, Joey Dorsey and Carl Landry to the Kings for Kevin Martin, Kenny Thomas, Sergio Rodriguez and Hilton Armstrong.

Martin is a high scoring guard, averaging 20.3 points per game this season, and fills the Rockets need for a scoring guard.

Landry, a crowd favorite, is averaging 16.1 points per game and was the Rockets second leading scorer this season. However, with his emerging success the team may not have been able to resign him in the off season and with Yao Ming expected back next season his playing time would have dwindled. The move also creates salary cap space for theRockets to resign Kyle Lowry and Luis Scola after this season.

The NBA’s trade deadline is 2 p.m. local time Thursday and the Rockets may not be done dealing. Check back with WOL later today for the latest Rockets news
