Students from class III to XII and teachers of higher Velammal graduated from secondary schools in Mogappair, took Chennai to the challenge after getting training in painting on glass by experts from Pidilite Industries Ltd for only two days and were able to make a record in the Book of Limca View Documents in the category of art glass, more than 2500 students and 120 teachers from higher Velammal graduated from high school painting skills by completing the technical work of the individual in less than an hour on Wednesday (11/04/2009).
Home Higher Velammal graduated from high school, said Stella Jebakumari ", about 90 per cent of students completed the painting glass in 45 minutes. From the total number of students 3291 at the school, students began in 2640 part of this challenge." P Murthy of the Book of Limca Records were present in the school throughout this endeavor. An official at the school that this is the first time ever that more than 2500 students have done glass painting at the same time.
