Sialkot double murders: Rehman vows to hang killers at same site

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has vowed to hang the killers of two brothers in Sialkot, who were killed in a gruesome way in Sialkot a week back, at the same site where they were hanged.
Talking to media after offering condolence to the grieved family in Sialkot on Sunday, Rehman deplored that police played a key role in the double murders and pledged, ‘The killers would be hanged on the same place where those unfortunate brothers were hanged’, assured Rehman. He said all those cops involved in the gruesome murder of the two brothers would be given exemplary punishment. ‘Police committed acute negligence’, lamented the minister.
He maintained that the names of those behind this crime would be enlisted into Exit Control List and urged the people of Sialkot to testify in the case.
Rehman assured that the eyewitnesses of the killing would be given sufficient security and added that some ten accused have been held so far. He warned that a ten-year sentence would be awarded to those keeping illicit arms. Terming the incident as a national tragedy, the minister said ‘we need to rectify the society and we will counter such incidents in future’.
The minister also hailed Dunya News reporter for coverage of the murders on the cost of his life.
Earlier, Governot Taseer and Federal Minister Rehman Malik offered condolence to the aggrieved family in Sialkot. Talking to media, Taseer condemned the incident, and added that the killers are not human being. However, he refrained from pinning allegations on anyone, saying that the truth would come out after investigation.
