Members of the media lodged a countrywide protest against an attack on Dunya News reporter Hafiz Imran who unearthed the Sialkot lynching incident.
The protesters chanted slogans against PPP MNA Firdous Ashiq Awan and demanded her to step down from office. Dunya News reporter Hafiz Imran alleged that Firdous Ashiq Awan is just trying to take political benefit of the situation. He further said that Firdous telephoned him and asked him to stop this performance. Imran said that people warned him of severe consequences since he made the footage public.
