The Ralph Snodsmith, a specialist in horticulture, who tilled the means of radio, television and publishing to help homeowners in New York and across the country to care for plants and help them thrive, died Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and 70.
He died from complications of a broken hip, said Mary Snodsmith and his wife of 47 years. “It was just a nice man. And caring people. And he liked the people,” she said.

Joe Bartlett, news director of radio in the morning, where her husband was a set of “Garden Hotline”, and called Ralph Snodsmith “foremost authority on gardening.”

“It has helped millions of people with questions their own gardens, whether in factories within the buildings, gardens and trees,” he said.

Snodsmith for eight years he served as expert gardening “Good Morning America,” and wrote several popular books on gardening, including the “Guide Tri-State Gardener” and “Gardening Basics”, and present in the new Botanical Garden in New York.
