In the classical style, and went on the Internet abuzz this morning about how another volcano in Iceland – perhaps the volcano Hekla – erupted, spewing more ash in the skies of northern Europe, and stranding who knows the number of passengers at airports, more shabby.
The only problem with these stories that they were completely wrong. The various sites and misleading information that flow, although a small number of retreat from the story, and make corrections, and admitted only the red cheek, they were embarrassed about the whole thing. Some, such as Internet update wires, still appeared to be standing to the side of the story, reporting that the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service showed a huge cloud of smoke rising from the volcano Hekla (as of this report).
Of course last week, there was volcanic activity in Iceland, including a bust of ash, Eyjafjallajökull of the glacier in Iceland. Fighting has subsided and this activity, but still, according to the Associated Press, reporting from Iceland. There is less of ash, writes AP, which means that passengers who were stranded may finally be able to board a plane for travel.
