Father Coughlin

Father Coughlin

Father Coughlin : Mike Conway specified to study the number of times Fox News Bill O’Reilly insults and the use of other methods of propaganda in its program. Mr. Conway issued his report and then saw Mr. O’Reilly to recruit some of the same methods to ridicule and research – host TV so calculated the number of times he called someone a name in his reply. “It was a little surreal,” Lee said Mr.Conway.

Mr. Conway, an assistant professor in journalism at Indiana University, and his colleagues to recruit volunteers to monitor the hours of Mr. O’Reilly regular two-minute segment, “points to the note.” Volunteers saw 105 episodes, each of which broadcast in 2005. They counted the use of seven rhetorical techniques identified as elements ofpropaganda by the now-defunct research group Institute for Propaganda Analysis. Mr. O’Reilly in the totals at that time compared with those of anti-Semitic and anti-communist 1930s radio Father Charles Coughlin, as measured by IPA-funded researchers in a book in 1939.
