Duke Maryland : College Park, Maryland – Greivis Vasquez saved his best for last.
Vasquez scored 20 points, including a clutch basket with 37 seconds left and No. 22 Maryland beat fourth-seeded Duke 79-72 on Wednesday night to move into a tie with Manchester blue on top of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The game was the final home of Vasquez, who was honored with the elderly, Landon Milbourne and Eric Hayes before the game.
After that, all three were gathered with their colleagues as fans rushed the court to celebrate Maryland’s first victory over Duke in seven attempts.
Jordan Williams had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Turtle (22-7, 12-3), who won six times in a row since losing by 21 at Duke University on Feb. 13.
