Owain Glyndwr and play?
Over the past 20 years and I have heard the Welsh (and especially the American variety) and complain more than the fact that there was no Hollywood production about a great patriot Wales, Owain Glyndwr. At odds with both Scotland and Braveheart Rob Roy, Michael Collins, and many good movies, such as my left foot to Ireland.
What films in the past 30 years, and Wales or Welsh thing as a subject? I can think of 2. And normal “in the English language, which rose on the hill” and excellent “Hedd Win” (which received well-deserved Oscar nomination).
However Owain Glyndwr does not wake up any interest. Why? I think that part of the problem lies with the representatives of the Hollywood we do not seem to be interested in the promotion of Welsh history, tapping the likes of Ridley Scott make a movie about blockbusting in Britain nearly opaque characters.
Think about it. If he had succeeded, and how Britain’s going to be?
My suggestion would be to write a play and production. Then maybe there will be some interest in turning it into a movie.
All of its playwright is skilled to do so.
