New Delhi: Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that the railway line in the food policy under revision.
Presentation of the budget of the Railways for the year 2010-2011, Banerjee said: "Since the railroad had received several complaints, it has decided to provide food in the trains in administrative time. Restaurant and policy is under review and will be completed as soon as possible."
She informed the House of Railways, which made Janata Ahar and economic prices of food, in many of the stations.
Banerjee also assured the members that her department is going to launch a special campaign to improve comfort for passengers and hygiene.
"To provide basic facilities of clean drinking water, and six new plants to fill the bottles in Ambala, Amethi, money, Nasik, Trivandrum and Farakka through partnership between public and private sectors (PPP) route will begin with the mandate that bottled water will be provided in new stations at prices much cheaper, "she said.
Banerjee said a main focus is given to the development and amenities for passengers. Financial authorities in the field offices has increased for the rapid implementation of the work.
The railway is expected to spend record Rs.1, 302 billion rupees in 2010-11 and amenities for passengers. (ANI)
