A former singer in the teen's troubled Representative / Leif Garrett was arrested by officers of the Los Angeles Sheriff on Monday in the Metrolink station in downtown Los Angeles for possession of controlled substances. According to the Web site of the Sheriff's Office, Garrett, 48, was seized at about 11 am on Monday and taken to prison before being released on Wednesday about 1 pm after receiving bail and ordered to return to the court date on Feb. 24.

While a spokesman for the Sheriff Department can not be reached for comment, a spokeswoman told E! Web site that police were patrolling in the city center and train station users Garrett act in a manner they deemed suspicious, and when they searched him they allegedly found the drug is warranted.

Garrett was arrested on similar charges in 2006, when he was stopped for riding without a ticket and found in possession of heroin and Quaaludes. He was sentenced to a period of 90 days in jail in the incident.

Garrett began his career at the age of 5 years, and soon scored a large number of film and television roles and hit singles, but before the age of 18 started his troubles. In 1979, only a few days before the Eid birthday 18th, he rammed his car while drunk, and make his best friend Roland Winkler passengers and a paraplegic - an incident that during the review in an episode of VH1 "Behind the Music" in 1999, which apologized for Winkler.
