ING Miami Marathon : Thousands of runners and walkers hit the streets of Downtown Miami early Sunday as the ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon got underway just before dawn.

The race course, which starts at American Airlines Arena, travels north and continues through Miami Beach, Downtown Miami, Little Havana, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables before returning downtown for a finish at Bayfront Park.

17,000 runners/walkers were expected to participate in the eighth annual event.
