Imogen Lloyd Webber : Famous author Imogen Lloyd Webber born on 31th March, 1977. Imogen is the daughter of Andrew Lloyd Webber who was a composer. She completed her education at Girton College, Cambridge and runs a production company “ILW Productions”. In February 2009 the first debut show of her company ” Touched… For The Very First Time” had a limited run at the Trafalgar Studios in London’s West End. The show was written by Zoe Lewis and directed by Douglas Rintoul.
Lloyd’s non-fiction book ‘The Single Girl’s Guide’, was published in UK in April 2007 and in US in October 2007. Lloyd declined an offer to take part in ITV’s reality show “Love Island”. She also appeared on Fox Business Network as a commentator. The day when she completed her graduation in first class she felt miserable instead of being happy she says:
“It was just another day of having no energy and feeling completely exhausted, For months, I’d been living on cans of Pepsi Max to keep me going because I could barely get out of bed in the morning. I couldn’t work out what was wrong, why at 22 I was feeling like this.”
She worked as a freelance journalist then she started putting on weight. Then she joined U.S. TV and moved to New York she says:
“Despite the fact I was always running around not eating much, I was getting heavier. I’d always been podgy for my 5ft 3in frame, but by the time I started working I was a size 14, rather than the eight to ten I should have been. Carrying all that extra weight really didn’t suit me.”
Her doctor asked her for a blood test and tests confirmed that she had hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid. She started medication and within weeks she felt normal. But within six months she developed a adverse reaction to the thyroxine. She recalls:
“I couldn’t sleep at night because my mind and my heart were racing. I lost almost two stone, and I dropped from a 14 to a size six, even though I was eating more than I ever had. All my clothes were loose and baggy and I had to buy a whole new wardrobe.”
She advised:
“I’d also say to anyone who has been diagnosed with a thyroid problem that you must of course seek medical advice, but also try alternative methods if you can. Doctors know a lot, but they don’t have all the answers.”
She is fine now and these days juggles a host of writing and theatrical commitments. Her health is her first priority. Imogen plannings for near future are as she says:
“When the show finishes, I’m going to write a new fiction novel - something cheery and fun and not get too deep. I’ve had more than my share of gloomy moments, but now I want to stay as healthy and positive as I can be”
